Jagran Prakashan Q2 net down 16 pc to Rs 72 cr

Jagran Prakashan, the publisher of leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, today reported a decline of 16 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 72.23 crore for the September quarter of the current fiscal.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 86.05 crore during the July-September period a year ago, said in a filing.

Its total during the quarter under review was up 2.30 per cent to Rs 579.08 crore as against Rs 566.03 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.

Jagran Prakashan's total expenses in the second quarter of the financial year 2017-18 were up 6.58 per cent to Rs 469.32 crore as against Rs 440.34 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

The from FM radio segment was up 9.53 per cent to Rs 75.82 crore as compared with Rs 69.22 crore in the year- ago period.
