Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today felicitated the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar after the steel city topped the chart in the Swachh Survekshan Survey 2017 in the east zone.
Jamshedpur bagged the top slot in the category of cities in the eastern region having population more than ten lakhs, according to an official release here.
The union minister honored Kumar at a function held at Delhi today, the release said.
Jamshedpur has improved its ranking remarkably in the region in the latest survey compared to the last, it stated adding that the city had ranked 109 in the 2014 survey conducted in 476 cities and towns.
