Activists of Janhit Morcha today staged a protest at the DND Flyway to demand making the expressway toll-free, police said here.
Though Section 144 of the CrPC was put in force in the district ahead of the demonstration, the protest was allowed since it was peaceful and none of the protesters resorted to any kind of violence, City Magistrate K P Singh said.
Police had made elaborate arrangements to ensure no untoward incident takes place, he added.

Last time, the protest by BJP workers demanding DND Flyway to be made toll-free had turned violent with the protesters causing damage to property of toll plaza.
Former state minister and former MLA Nawab Singh Nagar, who led today's protest, said protests will continue till the DND Flyway is made toll-free.
"When Haryana can make the expressway toll-free in Gurgaon, then why not Uttar Pradesh for DND Flyway?" he asked.
Meanwhile, DND Flyway management spokesperson Anwar Abbasi said, "DND Noida toll plaza was made toll-free from 10.45 am to 2 pm. Around 25,000 vehicles crossed without paying toll.
