The State government today constituted a six-member committee headed by shooting ace Jaspal Rana to identify popular traditional games of Uttarakhand for inclusion in the 38th edition of National Games, to be hosted by the hill state in 2018.
The secretary sports and youth welfare, Shailesh Bagoli informed that the panel will submit its report to the State government within six months.
Headed by Rana, the committee will comprise Dhirendra Singh Chauhan (Director, Directorate of Sports), Hansa Sharma (weightlifting), Surendra Singh Kanwasi (Rowing), R S Rawat (hockey), Gurphool Singh (athletics) and Padam Bahadur Mall (boxing).
