JEE (Advanced) results out, Jaipur boy tops

Jaipur boy Aman Bansal has topped the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) (JEE (Advanced)) for 2016, the results of which were declared on Sunday.

On the basis of these results, admissions into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technologie's (IITs)and other top engineering colleges are granted. The second position was grabbed by Bhavesh Dhingra of Yamuna Nagar, while Kunal Goyal of Jaipur stood third.

Over 1,55,948 candidates had registered for the exam and 36,566 qualified, as per the official JEE website. Of these 31,996 are boys and 4,570 are girls.

Seats to 23 IITs including the four new ones will be allotted on the basis of this test which was organised by IIT Guwahati this year.

Apart from IITs, institutes like Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology in Rae Bareli, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy in Visakhapatnam, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology inThiruvananthapuram also consider JEE results for admissions.
