Press Trust of India New Delhi
Jeera prices moved down by 0.60 per cent to Rs 15,020 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.

Furthermore, adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing regions weighed on jeera prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December declined by Rs 90, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 15,020 per quintal with an open interest of 2,655 lots.

On similar lines, for delivery in January the spice traded lower by Rs 55, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 15,210 per quintal in 10,062 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants, driven by subdued domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market, mainly led to fall in jeera prices at futures trade.
