Actress Jerry Slate has been roped in to star opposite "Captain America" actor Chris Evans in drama "Gifted".
To be directed by "The Amazing Spider-Man" helmer Marc Webb, the film also stars Octavia Spencer, Lindsay Duncan and newcomer McKenna Grace, reported Variety.
Penned by Tom Flynn, the movie revolves around Frank Adler (Evans), a single man raising his 7-year-old, intellectually gifted niece Mary.
In an attempt to help her experience a "normal" upbringing, Frank enrolls her in school, attracting the unwanted attention of his scheming mother who fights for custody of the girl only to exploit her gifts for selfish reasons.
The story follows a conflict in the family as they try to find out the best for the gifted child.
