Jh'khand CM seeks speedy clearance of funds from Centre

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today urged the Centre to clear pending funds to ensure the speedy implementation of schemes such as the Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) in his state.

Das made his request to Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati during a meeting today, an official statement said.

Bharati, on her part, sought the chief minister's cooperation for the cleaning of the Ganga, its rejuvenation through removal of chemical pollutants and silt from the river bed and treating fluoride and arsenic found in the groundwater in the state, the statement added.
