Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghuvar Das today said that his government is taking initiatives to develop the state like Gujarat and Maharashtra in the next five years.

"The state government is taking intiative to develop the mineral-rich Jharkhand like Gujarat and Maharashtra in the next five years," Das, who was here to take part in a review meeting of BJP's membership drive, said.

The tourism sector had plenty of opportunity for growth and accordingly steps have been initiated and development in the tourism sector would be visible in the next two years, he said.

The chief minister regretted that a huge-deposit of minerals including iron-ore were mined rampantly without any proper plan depriving the local masses of the benefits they deserved.

Commenting on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Das said the CSR being done by the mine-owners so far was merely a publicity stunt but cautioned that two per cent of the profit would have to be spent on CSR and the government would decide where to spend the money.
