Charges of political payoff levelled by former Army chief VK Singh, militant attacks and Kishtwar riots dominated the discussions during the 10-day autumn session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
In spite of the charged discussions, the House still managed to take up day-to-day issues concerning the people.
Giving details of the business transacted during the course of Session, Speaker of the Assembly Mubarak Gul said as many as 21 questions were taken up and 71 supplementaries were raised by members.
"As many as 108 public importance issues were raised by the members during Zero Hour and two Government Bills were passed, seven Private Members Bills were taken up and one Private Members Bills introduced," Gul said.
The Speaker said 72 calling attention notices were received and 38 were listed during the just concluded session.
"33 resolutions were received out of which 29 were admitted, four disallowed and three taken up for discussion," he said.
The House met for a cumulative period of 28 hours and 15 minutes during the 10-day session, which began on September 30, but had only seven working days.
The session was scheduled to end yesterday but was extended by one day after Government declared October 3 as a public holiday.
The proceedings of the House were dominated by a discussion on allegations levelled by the former Army chief that many ministers in the state were paid money by the army "to get certain jobs done".
The issue was discussed for nearly four hours on October 7 following which a unanimous resolution was passed by the Assembly, seeking a credible probe into the matter.
The issue consumed another two hours yesterday as the Speaker finally announced that Gen Singh will be summoned to the House to explain his position.
Human rights issues including the killings in Shopian, Gool, Kishtwar riots and attack on police and army establishments in Jammu region were also discussed in the House.
