JKPCC Chief briefs Sonia on situation in J&K

In the backdrop of the situation emerging following release of Masarat Alam in the State, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmed Mir today met Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

He briefed her about the latest political situation in the State as well as discussed the organisational matters of the party, said chief spokesman of JKPCC Ravinder Sharma.

Gandhi asked Mir to vigorously continue the membership drive in the state as in other parts of the country. She also asked him to setup and strengthen organisational structure up to booth level, in order to strengthen the party at the grass roots, he said.
 

Mir expressed gratitude to Congress High Command for entrusting him with responsibility of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and conveyed to her that he would leave no stone unturned to strengthen the party at the grass root level in all three regions of the state.
