Prices of jowar and maize firmed up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today largely supported by increased offtake by consuming industries.
Marketmen said besides increased offtake by consuming industries, restricted supplies from producing belts attributed rise in jowar and maize prices.
In the national capital, jowar yellow and white edged up to Rs 1,600-1,700 and Rs 2,750-2,850 from previous levels of Rs 1,590-1,600 and Rs 2,650-2,750 per quintal, respectively.
Maize also traded higher by Rs 10 to Rs 1,335-1,340 per quintal.
