Preparations for celebrations of Christmas reached its climax on the Christmas eve today in the Christian-dominated north eastern state of Mizoram.
The yuletide shopping spree also reached its height with a large number of villagers coming to the state capital for buying new clothes, cakes and home decors.
Prayers and worship services would be held in the churches tonight to be followed by 'Krismas lenkhawm' or church members singing Christmas songs upto midnight or even till the morning.

Almost all the streets in Aizawl were decorated with lights and people were seen thronging the streets with family members and friends taking pictures all the way.
The state governmnet has arranged additional power for Christmas celebrations.
