Judicial remand extended till Sept 6

The judicial remand of 41 local fishermen, who were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy, has been extended up to September 6, officials said today.

The fishermen, who had put to sea in two batches on July 6 and August 5, were arrested when they were fishing near Katchatheevu.

Mannar court Magistrate Aanandhi Kanagarathinam extended their remand.
