Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind has nominated senior Patna High Court judge Justice Navaniti Prasad as the Executive Chairman of the Bihar Legal Services Authority (BLSA).
In exercise of power vested as per the provisions of the Bihar Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, the Governor, in consultation with the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, has nominated Justice Singh as the new Executive Chairman of BLSA, a statement issued by the Information and Public Relation Department today said.
Justice Singh, the second senior most judge in the Patna High Court, succeeds Justice Hemant Gupta as the Bihar Legal Services Authority Executive Chairman.
Justice Gupta had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna HC since October 29 last following retirement of Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari.
