Jammu and Kashmir government today established Juvenile police units in twin districts of Srinagar and Budgam and appointed officers in 36 police stations to deal with such cases.
Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of concerned officers of Juvenile Police Units in Kashmir region. The meeting discussed threadbare various aspects for making the units a successful endeavour, an official spokesman said.
He said the meeting took many decisions including the re-designation of one Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) rank officer as Juvenile Police Officer in 36 Police Stations of Srinagar and Budgam districts who shall be given proper training from the UNICEF from September 15 to November 15.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to monitor such training programmes, the spokesman said.
He said the Divisional Commissioner gave directions for engagement of four social workers in Srinagar and Budgam districts having Masters in Sociology, who shall works under Social Welfare department and look after in Juvenile Homes.
