Former PCC Chief B D Kalla has threatened to launch an agitation if the BJP government in Rajasthan does not reopen Bikaner Technical University and fulfill other demands for development of the district.

"The government closed down Bikaner Technical University after few months of its operations. The university should be restarted in public interest at the earliest," Kalla said.

"The BJP-led Rajasthan government is neglecting the interest of Bikaner and the government was not serious in addressing the problems of the district," the Congress leader said.

There were a few demands that include reopening of the university and the government should focus on them, he said while addressing a public gathering outside Collector's Office building yesterday.

Kalla said that an agitation will be held if the government does not address his demands.
