Kanpur police stations to lodge computerised FIRs

The Kanpur police stations will now have computerised FIR system in place and the complainants will get a printed copy of their plaint.

The facility which has already been introduced in Najirabad and Kalyanpur police station is likely to be extended to all 44 police stations in the city by end of the year, SP West Zone Harishchandra, who is also in-charge of this programme told PTI.

The complaints registered will be updated into the database which can accessed by national server in Lucknow and Delhi enabling the senior police officials to keep a track of of the complaints, he said.
 

So far, the FIR's were registered manually and the victims were given a copy of handwritten complaint as a receiving, he said.
