Jammu and Kashmir CPI (M) has said the Kashmiri migrants putting up in Jammu are facing acute shortage of essential commodities as most of the retail outlets established for them are running dry.
In a statement issued yesterday, party's State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said most of the CAPD retail outlets established for Kashmiri migrants in Jammu, particularly in Jagti, Roopnagar and Purkhu camps, are running dry, causing tremendous problems to the public.
Tarigami said during his interaction with migrants, they raised the issue of shortage of foodgrains in their respective camps.
"Time and again I have raised my voice for provision of adequate amenities and essentials to the Kashmiri migrants," Tarigami said.
The CPI(M) leader urged the administration to rush food stocks to these depots. He also asked the central government to release additional quota of ration for the Kashmiri migrants.
These migrants are unable to afford ration and other essentials from open market, he said.
