Katherine Heigl, Laverne Cox's legal drama ordered to series

A new TV drama, starring Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox, has gotten a series order for 2016-2017 season.

CBS has picked up the new show titled "Doubt" which is also supported by Steven Pasquale and Dule Hill, Dreama Walker, Elliott Gould and Kobi Libiiand, reported Aceshowbiz.

The new drama will mark "Grey's Anatomy" alum, Heigl's return to scripted TV show after her short-lived 'State of Affairs'.

The 37-year-old actress is set to play Sadie, a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets romantically involved with one of her clients, who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.
 

Cox, 31, is tapped in the role of a transgender attorney.
