Press Trust of India Bengaluru
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today got admitted to the Jindal Nature Cure Institute on the city outskirts for undergoing naturopathy treatment for the next 10 days.

Kejriwal and his wife came to the Institute in the afternoon and they would be staying in an accommodation called "Nest", institute sources said.

The 47-year-old AAP National Convener had undergone 12 days of naturopathy treatment at the same institute for chronic cough and diabetes in March last year.

Kejriwal has come for detoxification and he will also undergo treatment for his cough and diabetes-related ailments for which he was treated last time, sources said.

The AAP supremo's wife will also undergo treatment for some undisclosed ailments, they said, adding that doctors on day-to-day basis will decide on the type of therapy they will undergo.

Kejriwal is also likely to attend a rally organised by the AAP state unit on January 31, demanding abolition of rule 8 of Motor Vehicles Act which mandates 8th standard pass for obtaining auto driving license, party officials have said.
Later in Patti near Amritsar, Kejriwal met several

families of the area, who complained of easy access to narcotics, to which the youths fell prey easily.

Several women narrated how their sons died due to drug abuse. A woman recounted how two sons died due to drug abuse and her husband who could not bear the loss died of trauma, an AAP release said.

He was accompanied by party MP Bhagwant Mann, and other leaders including Sanjay Singh, Ashish Khaitan, Succha Singh Chottepur.

Addressing villagers of Sursingh in Tarn Taran district, near Amritsar, Kejriwal claimed that no state government could match what AAP government has done in Delhi during one year.

An AAP release claimed that during an unscheduled halt at the village's Community Health Centre (CHC), Kejriwal found that there was no doctor, patient or staff there.

"Another shocking fact came to light during Kejriwal's visit to this village when a freedom fighter, Sohan Singh, explained how he was fighting for his livelihood, in spite of being awarded 'Tamra Pattra' by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi," the release said.

Quoting Sohan Singh, the AAP release stated that he had applied for old-age pension, but was denied, without citing any valid reason for same.

"During my visit to Punjab so far, I am astonished to find that virtually there is no governance, rather mal-governance. Lot of things are needed to be done in Punjab to bring back the entire system on track," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal said Modi, in his "relentless pursuit" for

power, had taken the route of "crushing" his opponents as he and the BJP have "failed" to fulfill a single poll promise, thus angering various sections of the society.

The AAP chief claimed that Modi was "frustrated" as he has failed to crush the courage of AAP despite putting the entire government machinery after it.

"He unleashed the ACB, police, CBI, IT after AAP. But he could not crush our courage. We have refused to bend. So he is frustrated and does not know what to do next.

"There are two ways to capture power. One is to do good work like us. But BJP and Modiji have failed in all the fronts. All sections of the society are angry including the dalits, minorities, farmers, jewellers and the youth," he said.

Kejriwal said Congress' "silence" had also got to do with Modi's attempts to muzzle voice of the Opposition.

"The second way is to crush your opponents. And he is doing it now. He has crushed all the parties. Do you ever see the Congress raising its voice? Or any other party? Dalits have been crushed. Rohith Vemula was crushed. Youth was crushed," he said.

Kejriwal said India's "souring" relations with its neighbours such as Nepal and Pakistan was also due to Modi's inconsistency.

"The more I think about this, the less I am being able to sleep. Is it the reason India's age-old relations with Nepal has soured, or with Pakistan?

"You went to say happy birthday (to Nawaz Sharif), then called ISI, then you blame them (Pakistan). So many flipflops. We can see many such decisions being taken based solely on anger which is dangerous for the country," he said.
