Union Minister and senior NCP leader Tariq Anwar today accused former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of "running away from responsibilities" by relinquishing his post in an unilateral manner and thus having breached the trust of Delhi residents.
"The manner in which Kejriwal has quit proves that he is a person who runs away from discharging his responsibilities," Anwar, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing, told reporters here.
"By resigning from the post of Chief Minister, Kejriwal has proved that he has not only failed in his duties, but also breached the trust of the people of the national capital region," Tariq said.
The Union Minister took a dig at Kejriwal, saying that he got busy with his Aam Admi Party's preparations for the coming Lok Sabha elections "within hours" of resigning as the Chief Minister.
Referring to political developments in Bihar, he said the seat-sharing arrangement among the Congress, RJD, LJP and the NCP would be finalised soon on the basis of consensus among the constituents.
Describing the recent pepper spray incident in the Parliament over the introduction of Telangana statehood bill in the Lok Sabha as a "shameful" incident, Anwar advocated for security measures in the Parliament to prevent repeat of such incidents.
