Kerala condoles Mahasweta Devi's death

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death of eminent writer and Janapeeth award winner Mahasweta Devi, who passed away today at Kolkatta.

In a condolence message, Vijayan said her contribution to Indian literature is invaluable.

Kerala PCC President V M Sudheeran described her as the voice of the poor and oppressed,while Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said she had fought for the rights of oppressed and marginalsed sections of the society.
