Press Trust of India Chandigarh
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said asked Jat leader Yashpal Malik not to politicise the reservation issue.

"Yashpal Malik is not doing any good by directly or indirectly politicising the issue of Jat reservation. Malik should not politicise the issue of Jat reservation," Khattar said here.

Malik, who is the national president of Akhil Bhartiya Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti, yesterday reportedly announced to oppose BJP in poll-bound states of Punjab, UP and Uttarkhand in protest against the party "not honouring" its promise of giving quota and withdrawing cases against Jats.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to maintain peace and not to participate in any kind of agitation which is politically motivated.

Politicising such agitations is condemnable and this cannot do any good, the CM said, adding as far as the Jat reservation is concerned, the state government has enacted a law and now the issue was with the court.

On being asked about the recommendations of Prakash Singh Committee, he said the government would consider only those recommendations that are worth considering and would act on these as it would deem fit.
