Terming allegations made by opposition as "false" and "baseless", Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today asserted that no discrimination is being made against any region in terms of development.
"No discrimination is being made against any region in terms of development. It is for the first time in the history of Haryana that a sum of Rs 5 crore is being given to every legislator, irrespective of the party he belongs to, for carrying out development works and providing civil amenities in his respective constituency.
All that he has to do is to send draft of the development projects to the government," he said, according to an official release.
Khattar also charged the opposition with making baseless allegations on the issue of development just to remain in the headlines.
"We welcome healthy criticism but they are making false allegations," he remarked.
Sticking to the chosen path of 'Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas' and slamming the door shut on politics in development, the Haryana government has, during its one-year tenure, ensured allocation of equal development works in all parts of the state, Khattar said here today.
He also listed many schemes which have been announced to redress the grievances of the people and said e-tendering system has been adopted for the allocation of works to bring about transparency.
Hitting out at opposition that maximum announcements were being made for Karnal constituency, which is represented by the Chief Minister in the State Assembly, Khattar said that the amount spent by the Public Works Department, HSAMB and HRDF Board on development works proved that the government had ensured equal development of all parts of the state.
He even quoted official figures to back his claim that "no discrimination had been done against any region."
Khattar said that the allegation made by some opposition leaders that maximum announcements were made for Karnal district as totally baseless and divorced from facts.

"In real terms, some of the announcements made in Karnal would benefit the people of the entire state. About 20 to 22 of these would cost less than Rs 2 lakh each. These include the announcements made on the awards given at cultural programmes.
I visit my Assembly segment every month to hear public grievances and try to redress petty ones on the spot," he added.
The announcement on the launch of CM Window, property registration through e-disha centres, waiving off goods tax on ambulances, regularisation of the services of blind in the Social and Justice Empowerment Department and opening of a degree college for deaf and dumb children were made in Karnal, Khattar pointed out.
"But these would benefit people across the state," he said.
The CM said that immediately after assuming charge of the administration, he had visited all districts and in keeping with the demands of the people announced some development projects.
"These are not mere announcements but are being implemented," he pointed out.
In keeping with the promise made during the monsoon session, the winter session of the Assembly has been convened so that all legislators could raise issues concerning the people of their respective areas, he said.
"A number of announcements of big projects were made for all districts. Mapping of all higher educational institutes is being done in the state."
Referring to the announcements made for Sirsa district, the Chief Minister said that a college for women would be opened in Sirsa at a cost of Rs 17.40 crore.
The foundation stone of this college has been laid and work is in progress.
Besides, announcements were also made for the construction of Railway Under Bridge (RUB) on Nohar road railway crossing in Ellenabad and special repair of the Barnala road from Sirsa to Punjab border at a cost of Rs 30.67 crore. This work has already been allocated, he said.
Notably, Ellenabad in Sirsa district is represented in the state assembly by INLD's senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala, who is also Leader of the Opposition.
"All these announcements and works are indicative of our policy of equitable development. It is clear that there is no difference between our 'Kathni aur Karni' (what we say we deliver). We do what we say and whatever we do, we put forth before the people," the Chief Minister added.
