An alleged kingpin of an auto-lifter gang active in NCR was arrested and two stolen bikes and a scooty were seized from him, police said today.
"Rahul is a head of an auto-gang active in Delhi-NCR. He used to steal vehicle and sell them in other states by removing their registration plates," a police officer said.
Police had been looking for Rahul, a resident of Sahibabad area, for a long time. He was wanted in several auto-theft cases.
According to police, they got information that Rahul was coming to Shalimar Garden area late last night. They put barricades and arrested him during vehicle-checking drive.
Police are interrogating him about his accomplices who would also be arrested soon, the officer added.
