Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead eased by 0.31 per cent to Rs 159.15 per kg in futures trade today in tandem with a weakening trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January was trading 50 paise down, or 0.31 per cent lower at Rs 159.15 per kg in a business turnover of six lots.

The metal for delivery in December also fell by 45 paise, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 158.45 per kg with a business volume of 330 lots.

Marketmen said, a weak trend in base metals at the LME, and muted demand from battery-makers at domestic markets, mainly kept pressure on lead futures here.
