Lead down by 1.9% as global trend weakens

Low domestic demand also affected prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead fell 1.90% to Rs 110.90 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced exposure amid a weak trend overseas and sluggish domestic demand.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August month contract was trading Rs 2.15, or 1.90%, down at Rs 110.90 per kg in a business turnover of 974 lots.

Also, metal for delivery September month shed Rs 1.95, or 1.71% to Rs 112 per kg in 53 lots.

Analysts said weakness in base metals at the London Metal Exchange amid deepening concerns about weak Chinese economic growth and muted from battery-makers in the domestic spot market kept pressure on metal prices.
