Lead prices moved down by 0.65 per cent to Rs 153.75 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut positions, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April month declined by Rs 1, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 153.75 per kg in business turnover of 515 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in May was trading lower by 75 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 154.70 per kg in 65 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders due to weak demand from battery makers in physical markets influenced lead prices at futures trade.
