Lead futures shed 0.70%, hurt by muted demand

Lead prices were down 0.70 per cent to Rs 157.05 per kg at futures trade today amid muted domestic demand and profit-booking by participants.
Lead for delivery in January declined by Rs 1.10 or 0.70 per cent to Rs 157.05 per kg in a business turnover of six lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in current month shed Re one, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 156.45 per kg in 318 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in lead futures was due to a weak trend at the domestic spot markets on low demand but a firming trend industrial metals overseas, limited the loss.
