Lead prices weakened by 0.23 per cent to Rs 154.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut positions, taking negative cues from spot market on tepid demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April edged lower by 35 paise, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 154.60 per kg in a business turnover of 323 lots.
The metal for delivery in May was trading lower by a similar margin to Rs 155.50 per kg in 11 lots.
Analysts attributed the slide in lead futures to cutting down of positions by traders due to eased in demand from battery-makers in the physical markets influenced lead prices at futures trade.
