CPI state secretary K Narayana and his CPI (M) counterpart B V Raghavulu led the agitation in front of an MNC store here.
"This (allowing FDI in retail trade) is a dangerous move. Five crore traders and 20 crore jobs will be put to risk," Narayana told reporters.
Raghavulu said all parties should vote against allowing FDI in retail when the issue comes up for voting in Parliament under Rule 184 that entails voting.
The Left workers held protests in front of the stores of the multi-national companies at other places including Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Tirupati.
