India's Dharminder Lilly stunned top Pakistan cueist and IBSF World snooker champion Muhammad Asif 4-3 to register his third straight win in the singles event of the ongoing World 6-Red and Team Snooker Championship here today.

Lilly, 39, fought back from two frames down to draw level with a break of 66 and then edged ahead after winning another frame.

Asif, however, claimed the sixth and was closing on a win when he missed on the last pink and Lilly seized on the opportunity to take the match 4-3.

Another Indian cueist Ketan Chawla won his fourth consecutive match and, like Lilly, is on top of his group.

Faisal Khan and Laxman Rawat also won their respective matches in the singles event.

In another stunning upset in the Masters team 15-Red event, the most unlikely duo of a traditionalist Rafath Habeeb and an unorthodox Nadeem Azeez edged past Egypt's number one pair of Momen Elensary and Hossam Harb 3-2.

The Indian ladies though had a mixed day, with Arantxa Sanchis and Neena Praveen winning their respective matches while Umadevi and Indira Gowda losing their respective encounters.

In the 15-Red Team snooker, Sourav Kothari and Shivam Arora outplayed Omar Alkojah and Karim Fatima of Syria 4-1, Kamal Chawla and Lilly also beat the Russian pair of Evgenrey Belyaev and Igor Aksistin 4-1 while Varun Madan and Ketan combined well to win their match.
