The executive committee of Goa
headed by its chief secretary Parimal Rai on Saturday decided to allow dropping of parcels at the state's border to smoothen postal services with neighbouring Maharashtra, officials said.
The issue of movement of postal vehicles across state borders was raised by Goa Postmaster General Vinod Kumar, as pr minutes of the meeting, a copy of which is available with PTI.
"Kumar explained that postal vehicles mostly go to Maharashtra. It was decided in the meeting that postal vehicles from Goa would drop the goods on the Maharashtra border and pick items meant for Goa from there. Postal vehicles from Maharashtra will operate in the same manner," an official said.
