Lok Ayukta raids on officials unearth Rs 4.7 cr illegal wealth

Lokayukta Police today conducted simultaneous raides at 21 premises belonging to government servants in different parts of the state and unearthed illegal assets to the tune of Rs 4.7 crore.

Based on the "credible" information collected by officers, source reports were generated against six government servants for alleged possession of assets disproportionate to their known source of income, Lokayukta Police said in a release.

It said raids were conducted in Bengaluru Rural, Bidar, Hassan, Mandya, Shivamogga and Mangaluru in 21 premises belonging to the government servants.

Criminal cases under Prevention of Corruption Act were registered against the accused, it said,adding their bank accounts and lockers were being scrutinised.
