Lover booked for woman's murder

A 30-year-old woman, who was found dead in a sugarcane field in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district two days ago, has been identified as Babita, police said Thursday.

A case has been registered against her lover, Kapil Kumar, who is on the run. The woman was allegedly strangled to death by Kumar at Gadla village, Station House Officer M S Gill said.

"Her husband, Jogender, was murdered five years ago. She had developed illicit relations with Kapil Kumar, police said.
