Lt Governor Lt General (retired) A K Singh and Chief Minister N Rangasamy today extended their greetings to the people of the Union Territory on the eve of Telugu new year Ugadi.
"May the New Year bring peace, prosperity and good health in the lives of the people of the Union Territory," he said.
Rangasamy in his message said although Puducherry was a multi-lingual Union Territory in view of lcoations of its constituent regions 'The people are united and stand as a model of unity linguistically and culturally'.

He wished the people of Union Territory and more particularly the Telugu speaking region of Yanam (an enclave in Andhra Pradesh) peace, prosperity and growth.
"This unity and spirit of love and concern for each other should continue so that harmonious living would be the highlight of Puducherry," he added.
PCC leader A V Subramanian, AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy and leaders of various other political parties also extended their greetings.
