Puducherry Lt Governor Lt General (retired) A K Singh today greeted the people of the Union Territory on "Eid-al Adha" saying "the festival known as the feast of sacrifice holds a special place in the hearts of the Muslim community".
In his greetings, Singh said "it is one of the most significant and joyous festivals that teaches all to have an undying and unquestioning faith in the benevolence of God".
Chief Minister N Rangasamy in his message said Bakrid marked the virtue of sacrifice. He appealed the people to promote love, charitable instincts, peace, humane qualities and equality.
Welfare Minister P Rajavelu, PCC president A V Subramanian, senior Congress leader and former Union Minister V Narayanasamy and host of leaders of different political parties also greeted the people.
