The North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) today introduced luxury aircoditioned bus services connecting the metropolis with north Bengal towns.
The daily Volvo services will connect Kolkata with Siliguri, Coochbehar and Alipurduar, West Bengal Transport minister Suvendu Adhikary said while inaugurating the services from the Esplanade bus stand here.
The overnight bus services, apart from a daily day-service between Kolkata and Kandi, will be run by the state-owned NBSTC.
NBSTC chairman Mihir Goswami said the organisation, which will enter 75 years of service in 2019-20, was planning to run more luxury services connecting different towns in north Bengal with the state capital.
