Man arrested with cannabis

A man has been arrested after over 14 kg of cannabis was recovered from his possession in Kathua district, police said today.

On a specific information, sleuths of Narcotics Department and Police intercepted a truck loaded with apple boxes at Lakhanpur Toll post in Kathua district yesterday, they said.

During checking of the truck, 14.90 kgs cannabis, which was packed in one of the boxes, was recovered and the driver Mohammed Maqbool Lone was arrested, they said.

Police has seized the truck and a case under NDPS Act has been registered against Lone.

Further investigations in the case are going on.
