Police have booked a man for pressuring the family members of a class 12 girl who was killed in UP's Shamli district to withdraw their complaint in the murder case.

Soni Kashyap, 18, was murdered with a sharp weapon by a youth when she was returning home from her school at Shyam Ghari in Shamli district on December 13 last year. Four people were arrested in this connection.

According to the family members of Kashyap, the accused, Shyama Gujjar, a relative of one of the accused, yesterday threatened them to withdraw the case filed at Shyam Ghari under Kandhla police station in Shamli district or face dire consequences, police said.

"A case has been registered against Shyama Gujjar for threatening the family," said SHO OP Choudhry.

The accused is absconding, Choudhry said.
