Man, daughter die after suspected food poisoning

In a case of suspected food poisoning, a 55-year-old man and his daugther died allegedly after eating a roti that was prepared from wheat they had bought from a ration shop in Parwani Gaudi village, police said today.

Badlu and his daughter Nankai (15) had consumed the roti yesterday after which they fell ill and were rushed to the hospital, where they died, Superintendent of Police Salikram Verma said.

Badlu's wife Ramdulari, who also fell ill and is admitted in hospital, said that they had purchased the wheat from a local ration shop and fell ill after its consumption.

Police has detained the ration shop owner and is probing the matter.
