Man, daughter mowed down by train

A 40-year-old man and his 8-year-old daughter lost their lives after being run over by a suburban train while crossing the railway tracks near Kalyan station in Thane district of Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Saturday near Patripool between Kalyan and Thakurli railway stations, an official said, adding that the deceased were identified as Ashraf Khan and his daughter Ayesha.
