Man drowns in river

: A pleasure trip turned into tragedy for a 31-year-old man when he drowned in Kallar river at Vithura in the outskirts while taking a bath, police said.

The deceased, Subesh, had come with a group of nine persons and were on their way to the Ponmudi tourist spot when they stopped to have a bath this afternoon, police said.

The spot where the mishap occurred is prone to such accidents.
