Man gets 10 years in jail in seven-year-old rape case

A local court has sentenced a 42-year-old man to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping a minor girl and raping her.
Special judge J K Verma convicted Gajendra Kadera, a resident of Alapur area here, yesterday under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (detaining a minor forcibly), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 376 (rape) of IPC.
Kadera was accused of abducting a minor girl from Runipur road locality on August 30, 2008, public prosecutor Mahendra Kulshestra told PTI.

He kept the girl in confinement for four months and raped her, the prosecutor said.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 17,000 on Kadera. Rs 7,000 out of the fine amount would be given to the victim.
