Man gets life sentence for killing wife

A woman's husband and her sister have been sentenced life imprisonment by a local court for stabbing her to death two years ago.

Accused Tarun Verma and Kavita were also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 each by district and sessions court judge Suryaprakash Kankda on Friday for killing Sonika on July 11, 2014.

It was alleged that the duo were in a relationship owing to which they conspired to eliminate Sonika, additional public prosecutor B S Narnolia said.

A case was registered against them at Nihalganj police station in Dholpur, he added.
