Man gets life-term for burning wife

A local court today sentenced a man to life-time imprisonment for burning his wife in Hasanpur-Lohari village of the district.

District Sessions Judge, Ranbir Singh convicted Pradeep under section 302 IPC and also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.

As per the FIR, filed on March 26, 2011, Pradeep had set his wife on fire when the latter objected to his drinking habit.
