Man gets over 3 years RI for sexually assaulting 9-year girl

A court here on Tuesday sentenced a 40-year-old man to three-and-half-years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl two years ago.

Metropolitan Sessions Judge at L B Nagarfound the man, a labourer, guilty under the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000, a police press release said.

According to police, the accused sexually assaulted the girl when she went to his house to watch TV in June 2017.
