A man was arrested on Thursday for the death of three leopards at Rajaji Tiger Reserve recently.
Sukhpal was arrested due to the suspicion that the leopards died after feeding on his dead dog on whose wound he had applied some pesticide, Rajaji Tiger Reserve Director Prasanna Kumar Patra said.
The leopards, which apparently belonged to the same family, possibly preyed on the dead pet dog and died, he said.
Sukhpal had dumped his dead dog in the forest.
The three leopards were found dead on August 2 at the point where the Rawasan range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve, Chidiyapur range of the Haridwar forest division and Landhang range of Lansdowne forest divisions merge.
