Man held for ramming car into Minister's pilot vehicle

A 24-year old man was today taken into custody after the car he was driving hit the rear of a pilot vehicle of Union Minister Prakash Javadekar in Pathanamthitta district with BJP alleging it was a security lapse.
The vehicle hit the pilot car of the minister, police said.
A case was registered against the man for rash driving, police said, adding "he was in an inebriated condition."
Meanwhile, a BJP press release here said the private vehicle hitthe pilot car after overtaking it.
The party alleged that it was a security lapse and called for a probe into the incident.
Javadekar was on his way to attend the NDA election convention held as part of the Chengannur Assembly by-poll when the incident occurred.
Former BJP State President P S Sreedharan Pillai is the party candidate for the by-poll slated for May 28.
